Clover leaf power cable????

Hi,

Does anybody have any tips on where to get a 5m+ Clover leaf power cable. The socket on my projector is clover leaf and I can only find 2m cables to the moment, which is just not long enough....

Any help appreciated......

Re: Clover leaf power cable????

hello,

I can't find a supplier for your cable, but you did say that any help would be appreciated, so I offer the following:
a) the technical name for a cloverleaf plug is a "C5" - this might help your online searches but, to be honest, when I tried I also found nothing over 2m.
b) I have just bumped your question back to the top of the list

I also have an interest in this type of plug - again, for a PJ - but my problem is that I can't find a cable/plug in white. My projector and HDMI cable are both white, so it is just a question of aesthetics.

cheers

Keith

Re: Clover leaf power cable????

I'm certain some computer monitors use the cloverleaf connector as my dad had an old samsung lcd monitor that had a very light beige cloverleaf cable, if you like I will try and find out the make of the cable.

Re: Clover leaf power cable????

Yes my Samsung monitors use this type cable, but the supplied cables are even shorter: only 1 metre! IBM laptops also use this cable but always in black!

Re: Clover leaf power cable????

Reason these are hard to come by is that they are popular with Laptops or most commonly used for Laptops and 2m is the recommended length I'm pretty sure it will work fine on a trailing socket but its the trouble of having one lying about. Most suppliers will have the 2m. Link below takes you to the Low cost Clover Leaf Power Cable

Re: Clover leaf power cable????

Russ Andrews Accessories do an IEC-to-cloverleaf adaptor for about a fiver. You could also by one of their powermax cables for your projector - I have the (now superseded) yellow powercables and it is great.

The electrical safety regs forbid longer leads as original equipment. If you want to make one up for your own private trip hazard, we expect you to die quietly like a gentleman.
