I have a 42" Panasonic plasma coming. I have recently purchased a Qed component cable for my CRT TV to connect to my Denon 1930 DVD player.

Will there be a great difference in picture quality using a HDMI over my component cable? Also, can you upscale from the DVD using a component cable.

Hello dougan

I believe the Denon player only offers 'up conversion' on its Digital (HDMI) not Analogue (3RCA) Video Out sockets.

Keep in mind that if the up-converted signal (1280x720 or 1920x1080) is not an exact pixel match with your Display the 'up-converted' signal will require a further 'conversion' stage within the Display; not always ideal!

Some folk prefer the extra 'sharpness' you get with Digital (HDMI) others don't - best option is to borrow an HDMI cable to try both options into your new Display.
