Hi All, i need help connecting my av components together please.
I have a Panasonic TH-42PW7BX plasma with hdmi and component terminal boards.
I have connected my Panny EX77 dvd player to the hdmi input and now need to connect the ntl box to the other input(s) on the screen.
The component terminal board is a two slot board, one side is composite or svideo in and the other side is switchable between component or rgb in.
On the component side there is five bnc connectors and they are labeled
VD, HD,
Pr/Cr/R, Pb/Cb/B, Y/G
I understand the three right hand connectors, either RBG, or component, but what are the VD and HD connectors used for?
The ntl box has an rgb scart and I was hoping to get a scart to three phono (rgb) connectors, switch the input to rgb and away we go. But I have been told this won't work. You can get a scart to four phonos (RGB and synch) but have also been told that this won't work either as there is nowhere to plug the synch cable into on my screen.
I have been told that I need a converter box to convert the (scart) rgb into component. Seems expensive just to get a signal into a plasma screen!!
I understand the difference between rgb and component (i think lol) so why does this screen have the ability to switch between the two if I can't use the rgb side.
Any and all help appreciated.
