| Help with PS2 RGB
Hi all.
Have a PS2 to RGB SCART lead - if I plug directly into the back of the TV, all is well, nice and sharp. If I put a 10m extension on it (yes, this is something I want to do!) then the picture is terrible and fuzzy.
The extension is reasonable, but not the best quality - it is a profigold 10m cable. However, there is nothing wrong with the extension, as if I put it onto a different RGB source, say a sky digibox, the picture is absolutely fine.
If I use my PS2 to S-Video lead, put an S-video to Scart adaptor on the end, then send it down the same 10m profigold 10m Scart extension, again the picture on the TV is fine (not RGB obviously, but not fuzzy either.)
The RGB settings on the PS2 are correct, I have checked them, and obviously as I said it is fine over a short cable distance.
So, can the RGB signal strength be too weak to last the 10m distance, whereas S-Video is fine? If i got a PS2 to Component lead and sent that to the TV (over a 10m component extension of course!) would I suffer the same problems? Do you think I should stick with S Video because of the length? Just seems odd to me that the Sky box is cool and groovy over that same cable.....
Any thoughts would be gratefully received....
Thanks
