Help with CCTV UHF Broadcast

A very odd connectively question.

I have just installed CCTV, all working well. To ensure I can watch the screen around the house I have ensured my video card has an S-video out. I have connected this to a box that concerts it to a UHF transmission (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...33050&doy=18m6) and set it up so it doesn’t interfere with all the old channels – Connected to the booster in the loft and checked with some TV’s upstairs, - All worked fine, set them via manual scan and all pictures are sweet – Job done (or so I thought)

It was only when I went to set a few more systems up, that I found that never devices (Panasonic DVD recorder, 50” Sagem flat ), refuses to find the broadcast at all – They can’t auto tune, and when I manually force then to tune to a frequency, I see the picture broadcasted perfectly, but I can’t store it away, as the systems tell me there is no picture there…. ((You know how modern device blank screens without a picture, so you don’t get snow))

Just to double check I set the marlin box to it’s test screen and connected it directly to these devices. Still unable to pick up the picture.

Why do all my “modern” devices insist there is no broadcast on my frequency, even if I can see it when I tune it manually? It’s almost as if it is looking for some control signal, like ceefax, but other devices (games, etc) won’t have that either?.

It’s been along time since I’ve even looked at UHF pictures, but I can’t work this one out. All other devices (older TV,s Videos, etc.. scattered around the house find the picture and it’s clear and not effecting anything else).

Okay you techno’s. What’s in new devices that effectively renderes this box from Mapins useless?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers, Stu.
