Connection help please

HI,

Could anyone tell me the best way to link the following components?

Sony KDL32S2010 32" LCD TV with HDMI, 2x Scarts, RCAs.

Sky+ box PVR3 with 2x Scarts, optical out, RCAs.

Sony RDR-HXD970 HDD/DVD recorder with 2x Scarts, HDMI, optical out, RCAs.

Pioneer XV-DV313 DVD Home Cinema with 1x Scart, optical in, RCAs.

Although I have got everything working, I am wondering how to get optimal quality out of each piece of equipment.

Many thanks for any help that can be given.

Re: Connection help please

Hey, here goes....

1) Sony 970 plugged into tv with HDMI.
Optical lead from 970 into the Pioneer DV313.
----Use this DVD recorder as your player as well and you will get the best picture from DVDs and the optical lead will give 5.1 surround sound into your Pioneer system.

2) Sky+ into TV via scart. Adjust picture output on the sky box to RGB (it's so much better).

3) Use the Audio OUTPUT RCA sockets on the back of the TV into the input on the Pioneer surround sound.
This means whatever you are watching (terrestrial , sky, etc) the sound will go into the Pioneer system.

Last thing, go into the picture settings on your tv and take it off vivid mode as this is just pants. Change the custom bits to get the best image.

Hope this helps you out!!
Mark
