Humming / Interference on audio from Cable Connection

Hello...I just bought a newflatscreen tv....I am trying to hook the cable imput (coaxial cable) to my vcr and then output the audio to my theatre system (bose) however, i am getting an annoying humming sound...all other audio is fine, its just when i plug the av cables into ANY audio imput, even a small portable stero. i think it has to do with the feed from the ocaxial cable...and when the audio is split out, it is producing this hum....any other ideas of how i can connect to my theatre so i don tget this hum? would higher quality AV cables help me out? thank you!!

Think we might need a bit more clarity on how you have wired this up.
Not really sure what you mean when you say "hook the cable imput (coaxial cable) to my vcr".

Sorry if the following sounds too basic but I hope it will help establish how you have wired things up.

The only coaxial lead/s I can think of that usually go between the 2 is the aerial lead which takes the signal from the VCR to the TV so you can watch and listen to the TV without the VCR being on. Or is some rare cases a coaxial lead that goes between two yellow coloured sockets and transfers a picture signal only.

Usual format is to run a scart lead + an aeriel lead from the VCR to the TV. The audio output (red and white phono sockets) from the tv (or the vcr or indeed both) are fed into an input on the bose system. If you dont have red and white coloured audio output sockets on the tv or video but you have an unused scart socket you can buy a scart adapter for about £5 that has them on.
