Daisy chaining extension blocks?

Hi guys

I'm temporarily renting a room and forgot to bring my 12-plug extension tower. On arrival I've found that my room only has a single socket, which isn't a lot of use to me as a software developer/AV enthusiast - I've got a lot of kit!

I need 8 plugs (Xbox, Monitor, Amp (Onkyo SR605), Laptop (MacBook white), HTC, 2x iPhone, lamp) but don't have any extension with 8 sockets. I also want the phones (3x) on the other side of the room to the amp/monitor/ laptop/xbox/lamp

What I have got to hand is a 6-way extension cable and a 4-way extension cable. So I figure I should be able to plug the 6-way into the wall socket and into that plug the lamp, xbox, amp, monitor and laptop (5 sockets) leaving one socket free for the 4-way extension, into which will be plugged the 3 phones.

I know it's not recommended to daisy chain power cords, but I figure that
a) The daisy chained cord is only supplying three phones, so shouldn't be pulling much power - it can probably considered as having the same draw as one device
b) The total draw of the 8 devices shouldn't be anywhere near the 13A fuse rating of the 6-way block

As such, would I be right in saying that it shouldn't be a problem?

Cheers
Jon

i was doing the same thing at my last property, only with a LOT more stuff connected, suffice to say it was fine, reading on another forum by a sparky, they say in practise is should be fine, but they don't officially recommend it, take from that what you will!
