Reccomend me a Speaker Cable

...for PMC Twenty 23. I'll be using Naim equipment (probably Nami Uniti2)

I only need 2 x 2m runs, so budget wise I'm not going to be too strict, so long as its not a rediculous price.

I was thinking maybe Chord Epic. ?

Brand is just a brand and it matters not. Any 16 AWG will do. I would personally go to local home hardware store and see what they have.

I'd say the cables mark grant sells, his service is always top notch and the cables are well priced.

As above tho try not too pay over the odds for snake oil

Personally I disagree and believe that a cable can make a difference. Even if it is small.

So if I'm getting a 5grand system, I'm happy to spend a hundred quid or so on cables, just so I can get the best out of the system.

If you are thinking of using Naim Uniti why not consider the NACA5 speaker cable?, as its not too expensive 9I am not sure on the current cost), and you will I think get the Naim speaker connectors included with the Uniti (although you're dealer will be the best person to advise on this), and you would need standard banana plugs/spades/bare wire on the speaker end.

The only downside is that NACA5 is quite a bulky cable - about 1 inch wide so is not the most discreet of cables. I would think some of the budget Tellurium Q cables may be worth looking and most dealers that sell more than one brand of cable will have demo sets that you can borrow.

When I had a Naim XS and Dynaudio I tried Chord Epic cable, NACA5 and Tellurium Black Q cables.

They all had difference characteristics whether people say so or not.

Epic was spacious and airy and offer a nice amount of bass
NACA5 sounded similar to epic although didn't quite have the same sparkle and lacking in the midrange.
Tellurium Q sounded much warmer than the other two and quite bass heavy, so bass heavy in fact that it muddied the midrange and was very short lived. This maybe down to bassy Dynaudio's but certainly didn't work in my system.

I'm not on Chord Signature :-)

Richy,

take a look on my sales thread:

This cable behaves fine on 30K+ systems.

Its also worth bearing in mind that if you choose to use the Naim Uniti2, the best speaker cable to use may well be the Naca5 as some Naim amps can be fussy about the speaker cable used, although I don't know which cables are and are not recommended for use with Naim other than Chord Company cables.

This is something you should talk to you're dealer about. If you wish to try other cables, ask if the dealer has a set that they can loan you. Also anything with spade connections at the amp end would be unsuitable as Naim equipment has flush fitted 4mm sockets designed for their speaker connectors (although you can use normal 4mm plugs).
