No sound from LCD tv connected through PC

Please can anyone help. This problem is driving me mad. I have connected my LG 37" LCD tv to my pc. The picture I have used the VGA cable. This is plugged into the RGB in (pc) at the back of the tv. The sound cable is a 3.5mm jack. Same connection at both ends. This is plugged into the back of the tv in the Audio in RGB/DVI and then into the back of the pc through the green connection. I have a perfect picture but no sound! The only way i get sound is if i turn the volume up to a 100 and still it is very low. Why can't I get the sound to work? Please if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the mixer settings on your PC via 'Contol Panel'? Depending on your sound card you may have to enable the sound output from the 3.5 mm audio out jack.

It will all depend what sort of sound card divice/software you have, but basically he's saying - turn the sound up on your PC!!

Try double clicking the speaker icon on your toolbar.
Then if necessary look at Options -> Properties.
