Complete novice!

Hi all.
I have an HDMI to Onkyo 607, HDMI from that to my Samsung LED TV. I can get sound from the external speakers when the DVD is playing but I can't get any sound from at all from them when I'm just watching TV. Have I got to re-assign the HDMI. Not sure at all.
Thanks in advance

Re: Complete novice!

Unfortunately the HDMI input on your TV does not work as an output to the onkyo, to get sound from the tv you will need to connect a dedicated out on the back of the tv to the amp.

This can be either a stereo connection via the red and white component connections or via digital means such as coaxial or optical depending on your tv. you simply connect to the amp and assign which one it is.

This Unfortunately means you will have to select the input on the amp everytime you want to hear sound from the TV.

Hope that helps
