Out of interest, why silver?

IXOS do a flat cable, but not silver.

From a sound quality perspective, no. From corrosion resistance, yes. So unless you plan on immersing your cables in salt water, copper is fine.

Hi,

Its to go under a wooden floor for many many years so i just want some good flat ones that will last as i cant rip up the floor and the speakers im getting are expensive.

Any suggestions welcome.

Take your choice:

Ixos XHS133 Super Flat Speaker Cable - Speaker Cable - Audiovisual Online - High Quality Audio Video Cables and Accessories

Get copper and with the money you save buy yourself some CDs or DVD's!

Re: good flat silver speaker cable pse

I use Ixos 233 flat and it about as thick as you can go under a carpet. Anything thicker and it will stick out and become a trip hazard. If you do want thicker cable, I would recommend the Van Damme Hifi 2.5mm and run it around the outside of the room behind the carpet gripper/under the skirting. It is certainly too thick to run under the carpet. I have several feet of the stuff, which I intend running at some point but other projects have taken precedence.

Re: good flat silver speaker cable pse

Thanks mr terrible,

I will look into those, and dave its a wooden floor if thats makes any difference ?

Wont a silver cable be better then, as the speakers cable inside their cabinets are silver aswell ?

Also i suppose having a flat cable is why you dont get the thickness ie at least 2mm ?

thanks

Brenda
