Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but none of the other forums seemed suitable.
I have 2 XBox 360 consoles and 1 Playstation 3 that are to be connected to a monitor and a TV in the following configuration:
1 XBox 360 connects to a Hyundai Q320 LCD TV via VGA cable
1 XBox 360 connects to a Samsung Monitor via VGA cable
The Playstation 3 connects to a DVI/Audio switch box via HDMI->DVI cable which then goes to both the TV and the monitor.
Because the Samsung monitor has no speakers, I have an amp with speakers connected that both the XBox 360 and the Playstation 3 (via the switch box) connect to through phono. This side all works nicely :-)
The TV (Hyundai Q320) has the XBox connected via VGA and the Playstation 3 via DVI (HDCP). This bit works well depending which source I select. For audio however, the TV only has 2 phono inputs for "PC" which works whether the source is on DVI or VGA.
I have bought a stackable phono cable (
Phono Stacking Leads > Maplin) that runs from the PS3 switch box to the TV with the XBox audio cable stacking into that. If the XBox audio isn't plugged in, I get sound from the PS3 fine. However, when I plug the XBox audio cable in to the stackable lead, I can only get sound from the PS3 if the XBox is switched on (in which case I get sound from both at the same time).
The question is, is there a cable that I can buy that would allow the two phono audio inputs to run into the TV and pass through whichever console is switched on (including both, although that won't happen)?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice,
PhilHalf
