HTC HD2 Video playback

Hi guys,

Is there any way to watch BBC iPlayer on the HD2 as of yet? On the mobile iplayer website it says the device is not supported yet...

Also is there any way to watch flash videos on the device yet, perhaps with flash player lite? If so - how do you get flash player lite haha.

Thanks

Have you tried myplayer?

[APP] myPlayer - BBC iPlayer / ITV / Hulu / 5OD / MSN for WM [v1.080 20-Oct-2009] - xda-developers

Cool, thanks.

Guess I am going to have to purchase that 'CorePlayer' thing at some point as well... shame that I have to pay haha.

Say if I download a movie too and this is in .avi file - the coreplayer should be able to play this? What about resolutions?

Re: HTC HD2 Video playback

If you want to use myplayer only to access BBC iPlayer then you may be able to get away without using CorePlayer. On my Touch Pro2 I use the built-in Streaming Media Player to play iPlayer streams in myplayer, and I use TCPMP (which is the freeware ancestor of CorePlayer) to play the higher-quality .mov downloads. TCPMP struggles a little on the TP2, but the HD2 is a lot more powerful. Whether TCPMP will actually run on it, I don't know - it's worth a shot.

The built-in Windows Media Player will play some .avi files but not others - it depends on the codec used to encode them. Annoyingly it can't handle either divx or xvid codecs, which are quite common (xvid especially). CorePlayer will certainly play xvid avi's for you. So will TCPMP if you can get it to run. The alternative is to transcode the video into another format that the HD2 can handle natively - mp4 with an x264 codec works well.
