Just wondering if anyone has had a text message from T-Mobile about the G2 update being available from the T-Mobile site?

it also provides a 'tiny url' link to download now.

bogus? or genuine?

I could be wrong, but as a guess I would say bogus.

An update would be OTA not for you to download as by default you cannot flash the phone this way.

Plus I do not think T-mobile would provide a tiny url link

hmm... possibly, as I can t find any link on the T-mobile indicating an update.

However I have had texts from T-Mobile about my acocunt being available online and the amount I owe (which is genuine)

Alright, I dont know if the txt is bogus but i doubt it as i got the same txt. Also the ROM update for the g2 wasn't OTA as it was 100mb, possibly this is the 1.6 donut update but i dont know for sure as i cant get connected right this moment. If you find out post here so i can check.. Thanks

On the t mobile site someone posted to say the update is the old one that has been available from t mobile for several weeks. Not sure if it has been confirmed but the hero wont be getting the 1.6 update (doughnut)

how do I know if it is the 2.73 one I have? I know my Android os is running 1.5 though...
