When reading an email press menu, then forward, then edit away... then send. Easy peasy

Re: HTC Hero - Email forwarding question

On the G1, it is how Hrochnick describes for normal email and for Gmail you need to scroll down to the bottom of the message where there are 3 links, one of them is "forward".

Re: HTC Hero - Email forwarding question

Hi guys

thanks for the reply. I know how to forward but what I want to do is when I select forward to scroll down to the message and delete a couple of lines then send the message on.

Apart from just the copy option I can't see how to delete some of that original text.

Re: HTC Hero - Email forwarding question

Ah ha, I see what you're saying... did think it was a bit of an odd request tbh!

The only way I can see to do it is using your mentioned copy option - a bit of a copy, paste, delete job in fact. Not as easy as simply editing but looks like it works. Once copied and pasted you can delete the entire quoted message below.

If you need a bit more detail: When forwarding, scroll down to the forwarded 'quoted text' section and touch and hold the screen. An option box will pop up asking if you want to copy text, press it and then (and if there's a tricky bit it's this) drag your finger down over the text to select what you want to copy. Go up to the editable section and again touch and hold, select paste. The original email can now be edited. Go back down to the quoted text and click the little cross in the top right corner to remove it - you presumably wont need to keep the unedited version...

Hope that works for you, let us know if it does the job. Cheers.

Re: HTC Hero - Email forwarding question

yeah i thought that might be the case, its a shame as it means more work then I wanted to do (compared to my iphone)

Hopefully this might be something which is changed in 2.0

Yes, it should be relatively easy to setup.
All you need is the fsnet POP3 and SMTP email settings (these should be on their support pages or ask them) and your username and password login details.
