Best Screen protector, Chargers, Cases, SD for HTC Hero

Hi all,

i have read this forum and others and lots of people are recommending what they have just bought or going to buy.

Now people have had chance to test the products out i am seeing what you or anyone else or if you have seen great offers on the following:

SD Card
SD cards. (Need mine to be high speed) 8gb or 16gb...can you go to 16gb on the hero?

Chargers
Best chargers - I would like another charger to take with me while im working etc...I would prefer the original HTC charger and also official car charger.

Cases
I see the silicone/tubber type ones are popular ? any advice!!!?

Screen Protector
Whats the best one ? I have heard there is one that can be washed!?? or is the official one the best one? play.com are doing the official one 2 for £5

Any more extras which can come in useful please post links!!!

Ade

It may be useful to mention what phone you have?

And please post questions like this in the existing discussion threads for your model of phone, rather than starting new threads, as it helps other members find answers to the same question if all conversation is together.

SD cards.

I have a 16GB card in my Hero and have had no issues with it ....despite it being a 'cheaper' carphonewarehouse own branded one!!

Best chargers and Screen Protector

I have the original / official in-car and extra mains charger from HTC ... both are good, although you may need to take note that the Hero's connection is NOT actually a mini usb but an EXT USB! HTC Chargers – Mini USB or EXT-USB | Mobile Fun Blog

You may want to go for the "HTC TC P300 International Travel Charger Pack". http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/htc-tc-p300-p18232.htm

My case is the flexishield skin. Nice and slim ... and one that doesn't add weight or a large size to my trouser pocket!
FlexiShield Skin For The HTC Hero - Black

As for a screen protector, I have always found invisibleSHIELD to be the best ... and extremely thin so it doesn't interfere with the touch screen functionality.

You may have noticed that my links are all to the mobilefun website. I have found their service to be excellent and pricing to be very competitive!

I have the htc screen protector, its pretty damn good. The only minor niggle is that the corners arent exactly the same rounded profile as the hero screen.

Cases - I bought a cheapo silicon one from Ebay for £2.80 and was quite surprised as it wasn't too bad but in the end I opted for the HTC pouch (HTC: Accessory store: Pocket PC Cases + Covers: HTC Hero Black Pouch PO S491 (with HTC Logo): Description) which is perfect for me as I only want the protection for the phone when I'm not using it.

I didn't know HTC did a case. Looks like good quality, I might be tempted.

I also have the gel skin which I really like. It's a good product. I ordered a white one but they sent me a completely clear one which I think is pretty cool and goes well with graphite hero.

I also have the official HTC screen protector. Performance is fine. It fits ok but you only get 2 in a pack and I messed up the first one. Next time ill just get a bigger pack off eBay.

The sides of the gel skin interfere slightly with the edges of the screen protector, but its hardly noticeable.

The pouch is good quality and looks very nice, I would highly recommend it for anyone who doesn't want a permanently attached case. I should add that the pouch is a nice snug fit so you can't use it with any permanently attached case (other than an invisishield type thing).

On the subject of accessories, I just had my desktop charger delivered today, its very nice (it should be for £30!). Its quite flat and nicely weighted and in a shiny piano black finish (very swish). It comes with interchangeable "brackets" designed for different phones. You have to be careful when ordering as the hero "bracket" isn't currently included in the pack but some places will add the hero bracket to the box (e.g. mobilefun)

Probably not but it fits perfectly, the case is quite flexible so shapes itself around the phone. Just to be clear this case will protect your phone from scratches and most of the dust you might get from it being in your pocket. It won't give a huge amount of protection from the shock dropping it from a height (it'll prevent it from getting scratched when it lands though).

I've always found the Martin Fields screen protectors to be excellent, although they are pricey. Never used one with a touch screen though, so don't know how much difference that makes?

Re: Best Screen protector, Chargers, Cases, SD for HTC Hero

I've used Martin Fields on touch screens and they are superb and don't have any impact on the responsiveness.

Same applies to Exim too.

krusell or flexishield for htc hero help

Looking for a case/cover for my new htc hero phone i recently got,i am drawn toward these two but not sure which one, what would you recommend?

KRUSELL ORBIT FLEX or the flexishied one that also recommended,i cant find much reviews or info on the krusell one,in the past i have always liked and went for rusell cases for my phone and am thinking of the same,is this just came out or been out a while.
Does not seem to be a great deal of places selling it too,i also like the idea of the flexishield ones cause they dont make the phone much bigger and is snug, has this one been out a while?Or i take it this sort of case has been around since the phone has.
The thing about flexi one is you would need a screen protector but krusell one covers that part.

help dont know what to go for
