is the HTC Hero g2 the same phone as T-Mobile G2 Touch ,does t mobile just call it another name or are these two different phones as i am after the htc hero g2.

its the same, t mobile just named it different, god knows why.

It's just "HTC Hero". The G branding is exclusive to and trademarked by T-mobile. There are a couple of variations, but only in the USA.

Carriers like to rebrand phones, so it is their phone, for their network, the "Orange SPV M3100" was actually a HTC Hermes for example. I wish they wouldn't, but it's worse when they cripple the software to get more revenue from their own services.
