HTC HD2 or SE Experia X3 or MR Droid or Acer Liquid

Hi. I was intent on buying the HTC Hero. Then I thought I'd hold off for the HTC HD2 because of the Snapdragon processor & large screen, the only major area of concern being it was not going to run Android & only Windows. I now read that both the SE Experia X3 & Motorola Droid have the Snapdragon processor, large screen & very likely Android 2.0. Seems like the SE Experia X3 & Motorola Droid might be a better bet & will be available very soon. Any opinions?

I think a lot of people are in this boat.

I prefer the htc but would be no issues if it was on andoid.

I am thinking i will end up getting the hero cause i have lost faith in sony and moto

Any ideas when the Droid is out? I need to upgrade around xmas when my contract is finished, was looking pretty much at the Hero, but am holding out as long as possible incase other options pop up.

You think? I actually don't mind it that much. It's a darned sight better looking than the Droid, which, despite what it's got under the hood, is not particularly pleasing on the eye in my opinion. The HTC HD2 is probably the best looking out of the three though.

That Rachel UI on the X3 looks like it could be very very cool. I have a sneaky suspicion that this one might just emerge as a better phone than the Droid. Time will tell though.

I am currently thinking that the X3 may be the best bet. There can only be one possible reason that the HD2 is not on Android - Microsoft must have passed a large brown envelope to HTC because as a business decision it seems insane!

Re: HTC HD2 or SE Experia X3 or MR Droid or Acer Liquid

I really wish Motorola had put the dpad on the left hand side of the keyboard. I want to play all those emulator games on it mega drive, snes etc... And the way the dpad is setup up is only and good for those who are left handed! I will be giving the droid a miss because of this and also the processor is not a snapdragon. I would have bought the Dext but the screen is to small and the processor is the same as the year old G1.

Guys,

Motorola hasn't even announced a GSM Droid at the moment, if they do I doubt it would be released until well into next year so I wouldn't bother waiting!

As for the x3 or HD2 depends of you want Android or Win Mobile.

Anyone know whats the marketplace like on winmo? I have a 3gs and my wife has the hero. I prefer the hero, far more flexible. The apps store for android is getting there but still some time until its a apple app store. I'm getting really bored with the iphone had one since the 2g and the miss the flexiblity of the other os's. Really fancy the hd2 but not sure of the apps store. Mined you the new se x3 looks good.

A GSM version will be released in Germany on the 9th November, so it probably won't be long before we see it all over Europe.

Re: HTC HD2 or SE Experia X3 or MR Droid or Acer Liquid

Motos are crap though, i just wouldnt trust a moto as far as i could throw it, which if i got it im sure id end up doing.

Android is too closed for me, like an open system and the X3 will likely be very expesive since its usually the case with SE devices.

Acer? Well they are usually cheap, but have terrible quality. Ive already seen stories of badly scratched up and broken Neotouchs, which was only launched a few weeks ago.

Its the HD2 for me, i already run the software on my HD and like it a lot. The 4.3 inch screen is just lovely.

Re: HTC HD2 or SE Experia X3 or MR Droid or Acer Liquid

A HD2 for me as it has WinMo on it (and looks like a funky device)!

Giving up my data for a third party to hold doesn't sit comfortably with me.

Cheers
