Running vodafone live on unbranded Hero

Got a hero on Vodafone from mobiles.co.UK which is unbranded. I received a months free tv subscription from Vodafone which is available through Vodafone live, however with the phone being unbranded there is no voda software on it so it just hangs. I'm certain that this is the problem and I'm unhappy that mobiles.co.uk never advised me of this. Does anyone know of a work around? I guess it would mean re flashing the phone with a vodafone rom, is that possible?
Thanks Mick.

Re: Running vodafone live on unbranded Hero

As the phone isnt supported officially by Voda then there wont be a Voda ROM for it.

I had similar issues with a SE C902.... I debranded it and lost the ability to access Voda Live and hence any freebies that were normally included. Re-Branded gave me those items back.

Those handsets that have the free TV/SatNav etc will have some sort of licence key embedded in the phone that the app checks every time that you connect.

Point your browser at the Vodafone eforum and ask if they can resolve this by getting settings/licence details from the HTC tattoo which they do support and is a similar handset as the Hero.
