i used to have an iphone and used run keeper for this

it basically tracks you movement,speed and distace travelled with gps then stores your run in its history so you can see the history of how far and fast you had gone it that one session.

i used this a lot for running and cycling and walking

does anyone know of a similer app to this for the touch hd

"My Tracks" will also allow to you to do what you want. i.e. it enables you to record GPS tracks and view live statistics – such as time, speed, distance, and elevation.

Also, once recorded, you can share your tracks, upload them to Google Spreadsheets and visualize them on Google My Maps.
