WTB: HTC Touch Pro

Hello m8s. I'm thinking to buy HTC Touch Pro, its almost an year old device so was thinking will it be possible to get it any cheaper than eXpansy's £309.99 (Inc VAT)

*only contract free*

Re: WTB: HTC Touch Pro

I know you said "contract free", but if you're looking to save money you might want to look into getting a Touch Pro2 (which is much nicer than the Touch Pro) on contract from Vodafone. It depends on your current contract and provider arrangements, of course. You can get the phone for free if you sign up for a 24-month contract at £30 a month. (That gives you either 900 minutes and unlimited texts, or 750 minutes, 250 texts and unlimited landline calls). A SIM-only contract that gives you that many minutes and unlimited Internet will almost certainly set you back £20 a month, so you're effectively only paying £10 a month for the phone. Plus, they give you the first 3 months free, which knocks another £90 off the total. So effectively you're getting the phone for a total of £150, paid off at only £10 a month. I think that's a pretty good deal.

Re: WTB: HTC Touch Pro

Hey thanks m8 for the good suggestion i'll think about it

lets see what my op has to offer in that regards btw 24 is kinda long & I was mainly focusing on contract-free as i don't wanna change my current plans and in that case the touch pro 2 cost almost 200£ more than touch pro

Re: WTB: HTC Touch Pro

If 24 months is too long for you, there is also an option to get a Touch Pro2 from Vodafone on a £35 a month, 18-month contract; that works out at a much more expensive £270 for the phone, but that's still not too bad a deal considering it's rather a nice phone. Hell of a lot cheaper than buying it SIM-free.

On a 12-month contract you pay £170 up front, then £34 a month, which works out at about £338 for the phone. Still cheaper than SIM-free, but maybe getting a bit pricey for you.

Remember there's nothing to stop you from selling the phone after only 6 months, buying something else SIM-free, and then using it with your Vodafone SIM for the remainder of the contract period. (Continue to buy new SIM-free handsets whenever you want). The only major problem is if you think sticking with Vodafone for X months is an issue.

Re: WTB: HTC Touch Pro

Okay, I own a Touch Pro2. I didn't actually get it from Vodafone, though. I do think it's a rather nice phone, and I do think the Vodafone deal is impressive. I am going to be mightily tempted to upgrade to a Touch HD2 when it comes out, though!

Re: WTB: HTC Touch Pro

Someone wanted a link to the Vodafone offer. Try starting here:

HTC Touch Pro 2 from Vodafone Business Shop

This is a business tarif. My personal experience has been that Vodafone salespeople are happy to sell business tarifs to pretty much anybody so long as you say you want the phone for "business use"; but your own experience may differ, of course...

There are some microscopic scratches around the hole where the stylus slots in as I get a bit careless shoving it in sometimes , otherwise no problems so far.

The HTC screen protector is a bit flimsy, mind you; it's already quite scratched from me frantically stabbing the screen while playing Xtrakt.
