Heyup guys,
Newbie here with some (probably) very newbie questions.. but please bear with me! Also, before i start, i've looked up and down the forum listings for a more suitable place to put this but everywhere else seems to be too specific to one thing. If this is in the wrong forum, then i appologise and feel free to move it to wherever it's supposed to be.
Right, the back story is that i've been away travelling recently, and having returned i'm now wanting to focus my attentions on a decent entertainment/home cinema setup for the house.. mainly to supplement my passion for gaming. I've decided i'm going to convert our currently unused back room into abit of a pad, and while i have ideas of what i want in it, i need some aid on how to actually assemble it. Thing's like a couch, cabinet and lighting i can sort myself, but need advice on the technical side of things.
Basically, i'm after any advice anyone can give regarding:
- A decent HDTV around the £400-£600 mark, prefferably 42"
- A decent surround sound system around the £150-£300 mark and prefferably with upright/tall speakers
I've found a couple of options already, but not sure how good they are, so if anyone could advise me or point me in the direction of a better setup then that would be great? So far, i'm thinking:
Samsung PS42A457P - 42" Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
Samsung "HT-TX35R/XEU" dvd home theatre kit - Littlewoods Direct
My budget doesn't cover the best systems available, so i'm just trying to find what look like the best options for the money i've got to spend (highlighted above).
Also, what are people's thoughts on wall hanging? I was going to purchase the bracket listed with the TV on Amazon, but i've been advised that brick alone won't hold a TV. Can anyone offer any advice as to the do's and don't of wall hanging a TV like that?
Any help GREATLY appreciated guys.. and thanks for your time..
