Playing .mov in windows media 11

Alright boys,

my .mov files (trailers etc) used to play fine in windows media player 11 and now they dont. my codecs consist of coreavc 1.9.5, xvid, ac3filter and thats it. I have quicktime installed but rarely use it. They used to play without a hitch but now they dont and i get an error message, any ideas?

thanks

Re: Playing .mov in windows media 11

.mov files are native to quicktime player.

You will need to register an mp4 splitter/filter in the registry in order to play .mov/m4v/mp4 files.

I have written a quick way in order to do this here. Just read thru the post until you find the bit on registering an mp4 splitter.

Hope this helps

Re: Playing .mov in windows media 11

nope,

providing you have quicktime installed you shouldn't need it.
