The feature set of handsets is growing, but the battery technology isn't.
Can't see it changing any time soon |
technology such as OLED is meant to help battery life .
i think the problem is
1. people do not fully charge the battery when they get it
2. they start the phone up and use as is.
there are many things you can do to get more juice out of your battery
i have the LG arena and i get a easy 3 days battery life out of it - playing music, surfing , and even calling!!.
now to do this i have to
1. turn the brightness down
2. turn off 3g / bluetooth / wifi when not using
3. turn of haptic feedback , sounds etc.
alot of people leave features on and assume you can get the max battery but sadly its not gonna happen
i get about
2 days with 3g turned on
most likely down to 1day with wifi on .
alot of phones now come with usb standard chargers so you can connect directly to your PC for charging - this is useful if you work at a office
(in fact all phone manufacturers from next year are required to move to the usb standard for the charging port now --

)
p.s if you want good battery life
nokia e51 and nokia e71 - fantastic - a easy 4 to 5 days battery life.
lg arena's got the best battery life out of the new touchscreen phones but the new samsung oled one coming out soon should also be good in the battery life department.
