Post Yamaha introduces first Blu-ray player

Yamaha has finally announced its first Blu-ray player, the BD-S2900. Passing on BD Live, the gloss black Profile 1.1 deck is presented as a high-end BD solution with a 12-bit colour processor, 1080p/24 support and* a bitstream output both Dolby TrueHD and* DTS-HD Master Audio; processing tech includes Chroma Upsampling and a 192kHz, 24-bit DAC. Thats a lovely looking machine, but should it not be Profile 2?

Why release a machine at the end of 2008 that isn't Profile 2. Is this not the reason most of us are using PS3's as their Blu Ray player because it upgradeable?
