At £160 you can get HD gaming with loads of games (alot cheap now!) Or for £300 plus £50 a game you can have a ps3 (go figure)

£160 sounds cheap but you'll probably need to buy at least 2 due to RROD.

Don't forget to add hard drive, wi-fi adapter, xbox live costs and probably a blu-ray add-on in the summer.

Re: Microsoft slashes price of Xbox 360

^oh dear, if you do get RROD(less common now) then you dont need to buy another one. All of the bits n bob you list are OPTIONAL and not needed to make the console work. The only one there that almost all people shoudl have is the Live sub, and at 11p a day(at most) its hardly a fortune. An xbox360 for £160=Bargain

you would need the spare when its out for repair.

those bits and bobs are optional yes, but most users will need a hard drive of some kind at some stage and most probably wi-fi.

good deal yes, but not that good when you facter in M$ hidden costs.

why they havn't released an xbox with built-in wifi yet beggers believe.

Re: Microsoft slashes price of Xbox 360

True, still excluding wi-fi is an odd move, it cant cost much to put it in these days.

But all consoles have hidden costs of some sort. No HDMI with a PS3, no BC if you buy the cheap version. I don't know much about the Wii but isnt a Nunchuck and Wand thingy about £45 if you need both bits, and supplied with composite, in the 21st centuary!!

Re: Microsoft slashes price of Xbox 360

Very True

Going off topic here, I actually bought a wii few about a month ago and it cost me a fortune in the end.

Wii - £180
Wii play - £33
nunchuk - £15
classic controller - £15
component cable - £18
rechargable batteries/charger - £15
2000 Wii points -£21 (the web browser cost 500 points)

Total - £297

Plus i bought an extra sensor bar and power supply for my other tv which cost around £20 from ebay altogether.

Quite shocking really when you add it all up.
