CES 2008 - End of an era for Bill’s final Keynote.

Microsoft's Bill Gates made us all wait for his final keynote speech at CES, but I have to say it was well worth the time spent queuing.
In a celebratory manner Gates gave us some very funny video clips about what he will do on his final day at the company in the summer, with some very surprising cameo roles from the likes of Steven Spielberg.
In terms of technology it was the advance of home networking and technology being part of your everyday life that spearheaded some very interesting new concepts. The highlight for me was the in development recognition device that if pointed at objects could give you important information. An example was the local cinema, point the device at this and you could do anything from view what films are showing to booking your tickets. Very cool tech.
Finally was a guitar hero face off where we saw the world champion play a brilliant round of a rather famous GnR track, only for Slash to make a guest appearance to play that exact song for Bill’s convincing win at the game. Very enjoyable and it will be worth searching out the online video.

Edit: Here is a link for the video played during his speech. Here

I hate when they talk about these new devices they have " recognition device", knowing it will never be delivered for public use anytime soon....

Yes. Though is that not why many of us are here checking out the forums, to keep up with all these amazing things, which I used to read about, many years ago in Sci-fi books?
