Post Blu-ray chiefs claim sales dominance but dodge questions

The Blu-ray Disc Association European Promotions Committee has announced that BD sales across Europe have topped one million units. So, the usual claptrap, brought out by the usual suspects. Wonder where their sales figures come from? Are they, like the US Nielsen figures, compiled from a 'selected list' of retailers, perhaps including Blockbuster, but not Adsa or Woolworths? I see more high end home cinemas than the average bear, an interesting fact, I've only once arrived at a customer and found a blu ray player installed, except the PS3. Seen lots of those, strangely all with 1 disc apiece, just to show them off.

Probably becuase like most people I've ever dealt with they're happy to spend thousands on a huge screen (so that everybody will be really impressed), but get all squeemish when it comes to paying more than a couple of hundred on the source material (that little box stuck in the rack that nobody sees).
