Bose delivers new Acoustic Wave music system

Following is the press release from Bose about its new Acoustic Wave music system…

”Bose has introduced the next generation of the acclaimed ACOUSTIC WAVE® music system, delivering a new level of audio quality that comes even closer to the sound of a live performance. The award-winning original was widely recognized as a breakthrough in audio reproduction, demonstrating that a small, one-piece music system could deliver the premium sound of a large and expensive multi-component stereo.

The new ACOUSTIC WAVE® music system II from Bose represents yet another advancement in the audio capabilities of small music systems, and is the company’s premium one-piece music system. It retains the simplicity of the original while improving the sound and functionality –- a combination of benefits that makes it unique in the industry.

The ACOUSTIC WAVE® music system II continues to be based on the award-winning waveguide speaker technology developed by Dr. Amar G. Bose and his team of engineers. However, the 2.3 meter long waveguide folded inside is now combined with the latest Bose advancements in signal processing.

The reproduction of musical instruments, from bass drums to flutes, is more accurate. The human voice sounds more natural. Deep low notes are delivered without exaggeration or accentuation, and the high and midrange frequencies are reproduced naturally, retaining the intent of the original recording. Furthermore, this new level of audio quality remains true at increased volumes, even outside.

The CD player in the ACOUSTIC WAVE® music system II now also plays MP3 CDs. When the MP3 CDs are suitably encoded, the improved visual display shows the track, title and artist.

A new talk radio mode compensates for the artificially boosted low frequencies found in some talk radio programs. The new proprietary BOSE® link connector is designed to allow the system to interface seamlessly with other BOSE link-enabled systems and accessories. A headphone jack is now included for private listening.

The ACOUSTIC WAVE® music system II also includes a digital FM/AM tuner and an input jack for another audio source like an external MP3 player or TV. A slim, credit card-style remote helps make it easy to operate.

An optional premium backlit remote makes operating your ACOUSTIC WAVE® music system II even more convenient. The larger, rounded design is comfortable to hold and its lighted buttons allow you to use the system in low-light conditions. Powerful IR emitters mean you don't have to point this remote at your system - just use it like a keypad in the included stand.

This system is easily moved from place to place. Users simply plug it in, or take advantage of the optional power case and battery pack to make it even more portable. An optional 5-CD changer, exclusively designed for this system, delivers hours of uninterrupted music.

The ACOUSTIC WAVE® music system II and 5-CD changer will be available in either platinum white or graphite gray.

* ACOUSTIC WAVE® music system II: £885
* 5-CD Changer: £299
* Premium Backlit Remote: £35”
