PAL does not exist in the high def world

HD DVD discs, whether sourced from the US or UK, are encoded at 1080p/24 and carry no regional coding.

BluRay discs are also encoded at 1080p/24 but some discs support region coding:
- Region A: North America, Japan
- Region B: Europe, Africa
- Region C: Elsewhere
