TDK turns to NXT for new flat-panel multimedia speaker system

Following is a press release from TDK about its new NXT-based multimedia speaker system…

”TDK has unveiled a new model in its range of flat panel loudspeaker systems based on NXT’s SurfaceSound technology. The SP-XA80 Flat Panel 2.1ch multimedia speaker system is the latest in a long line of successful NXT-enabled products from the innovative consumer electronics company.

Since launching its first NXT-based speakers in 2001, TDK has introduced successive multimedia systems utilising flat panel satellite speakers enabling it to continually differentiate its range of products. The SP-XA80 joins the SP-XA60 2.1 system (launched last year) in TDK’s latest range of multimedia speaker systems and looks set to underline TDK’s reputation for leading-edge products in this highly competitive market sector.

The SP-XA80 combines exceptional acoustic performance with stylish good looks resulting in an outstanding overall package. With a total output power of 34 W, the NXT-based satellite speakers produce clear, room-filling sound supported by deep, powerful low frequencies from the compact bass reflex subwoofer. The system is ideal for use with TVs, desktop PCs, laptops and portable digital devices such as MP3 players.

The compact size of the system makes it a space saving solution ideal for the demands of modern living. The subwoofer can be orientated horizontally or vertically and is small enough to hide whilst being smart enough to show. Easy to set up and simple to operate, a remote control and sensor adds to the convenience and flexibility of use. Other features include stereo mini jack and two RCA inputs, and remote control of volume, balance and input.

The TDK SP-XA80 goes on sale in Japan from 10 February.
