Post Philips announces its first Blu-ray products

Philips has announced that it intends to launch its debut Blu-ray DVD player in the second half of 2006. Details on the BDP 9000 player are sparse at present, though Philips has also announced that it will be launching at around the same time an all-in-one PC Writer (dubbed the ‘TripleWriter’ SPD7000)...

Hmmmm 72Mb/s??

It's a pity most hard disk drives can't manage a sustained transfer rate anywhere near this.

Could make it a bit tricky.

72Mb/s is only 9MB/s which is easily within the typical transfer rate of modern harddisk.
