Samsung has unveiled its first 4GB flash-based player with subscription support. The new YP-Z5 ultra-slim, lightweight flash-memory player includes a 1.8in colour TFT-LCD screen for viewing photographs and album art, and a unique touch-pad interface for making navigation easy. Battery life, meanwhile, is quoted at an impressive 38 hours of continuous music, and the YP-Z5 is music subscription service enabled, so consumers can play DRM content transferred from a PC. Supported formats include MP3, WMA, WMA DRM10, and JPEG formats.
The YP-Z5 comes in silver and black and will be available in March 2006 with a guide price of £139 (2GB) & £179 (4GB).
