Toshiba introduces two new DLP projectors

Following is the press release from Toshiba about the launch of its new hybrid range of projectors…

”Toshiba introduces the new S8 and T8 DLP projectors. Compact, with attractive styling and improved features, they’re perfect for mixing business with pleasure. With enhanced brightnesss of 2,000 ANSI lumens, a high 2,000:1 contrast ratio and SVGA resolution of 800 x 600 combined with DLPTM technology, they ensure uncompromisingly high-quality at an attractive price.

This latest range from Toshiba depicts a new style of ‘mobile class’ projectors. Weighing just 2kg the two are highly portable and perfect for flexible working. Their icon based on-screen displays also make them easy to set-up and simple to use.

The range provides suberb image quality through a choice of resolutions, with the S8 offering SVGA with 800 x 600 pixels whilst the T8’s XGA resolution gives users a higher pixel count (1024 x 768). This makes them perfect for projecting both video and data images and in addition feature Truevision™, an integrated video scalar/de interlacer, guaranteeing breathtaking moving images that are both crisp and clear.

They both have a versatile throw range to suit any size of room, generating sharp images from as close as 1.3 metres to an impressive 11 metres. Whilst the ECO mode reduces operating noise and enhances the lamp life by up to 1,000 hours.

A wealth of connections are at your disposal with these new projectors from Toshiba, included are RGB and video inputs (S-Video, RCA) plus RGB and audio outputs to ensure problem-free PC and notebook connections. Separate audio connections also enable external sound systems to be connected for a business presentation in a large room or to heighten the cinematic experience at home.

As well as high-spec image quality and versatility, the two offer advanced security features, protecting them from unauthorized operation. The password and panel lock functions also act as effective anti-theft protection.

Price and availability:
The S8 and the T8 are both available from distributors and retailers from January 2006. The S8 has a TPP price of £552 ex VAT. The T8 has a TPP price of £765 ex VAT. For more information visit Toshiba.”
