Sky and Sony join forces to push HD - including offering savings on HD kit

Sky and Sony UK Limited have agreed a marketing deal to promote the benefits of High Definition (HD) television. Two of the biggest brands in home entertainment, Sky and Sony will work together to promote the huge advance in picture and sound quality that HD will bring to television viewers later this year.

The marketing campaign will encompass national advertising, direct marketing, demonstrations at events such as the Ideal Home Show and press and radio promotions. The two companies will promote each other's products, so that – according to Sky’s press release on this subject! – “customers can make informed choices if they are thinking about upgrading their TV set”... Rather more intriguingly, there will also be promotions to offer customers savings when they buy a Sony HD set and a Sky HD box together.
