Audica to unleash new designer personal audio system

Following is the info from Audica on a new personal audio system that’s claimed to bridge the gap between style and hi-fi substance…

"Stylish personal audio products tend to have specifications like one million watts per channel and actually deliver one watt. Audiophile systems tend to have unexaggerated specifications but look rather plain and boring.

The Audica MPS1 promises 25 - room filling - real watts per channel RMS and delivers. It promises good looks and it delivers. It promises fantastic sound quality and it delivers. In personal audio, it’s now possible to have performance and style.

Designed for use with a personal music player whether it may be portable CD, MD player iPod, MP3 player or computer system (PC or Mac) the AUDICA MPS1 will deliver pure music or game sounds in a way that no other stylish system has before – with a sound quality that would not embarrass a hi-fi geek.

MPS1 will be available from authorised retailers in late November at a price of approximately £250.

The MPS1 is a combination of two stylish polished extruded Aluminium loudspeakers utilising high-tech 50mm drive units and an aluminium cased amplifier and control unit. The MPS1 is supplied with an extruded aluminium remote control.

The system has three inputs selectable on the amplifier module or by remote control and USB and FireWire connectors on the rear panel to enable portable music players to be charged. One input is extra sensitive to allow for low-level outputs such as PC systems so that sound level differences when changing inputs are minimised.

Specifications
* Output: 25 watts per channel RMS
* Inputs: 3 x 3.5mm jack socket (one with extra sensitivity)
* Output: Audica connectors on 2 metre length cables to speaker.
* Optional cable extension kit available.
* Power Connector: 15V DC with transformer on cable
* Mains requirement: 100V-240V AC
* Weight: 5kg (System)
* Accessories: Supplied with 1 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack plug lead"
