Hitachi reveals first Terabyte hard disk DVD recorder

Hitachi has revealed that it’s going to launch the world’s first 1 terabyte hard disk DVD recorder at the upcoming IFA show in Berlin. This is the first time an HDD/DVD recorder of such epic memory size has even been shown in Europe, much less sold.

The storage capacity of the DV-DH1000W means it will deliver around 128 hours of high definition recording or a frankly scary 1700 hours in standard def. The bad news: there are currently no plans to launch this deck in the UK. Darn. Maybe if we all scream for it loudly enough, Hitachi will change its mind?
