Pioneer develops new digital home theatre concept

Following is the press release from Pioneer on its new Pure Digital Home Theatre concept…

”Pioneer is proud to unveil its ‘Pure Digital Home Theatre’ concept. This articulates Pioneer’s ethos of offering category leading digital components (Plasma TVs, A/V receivers, HDD/DVD recorders and DVD-Audio/Video/SACD players) that offer unrivalled build quality and performance combined with utmost simplicity in installation, connectivity and operation. With full digital processing and transfer Pure Digital Home Theatre creates a digital nirvana of exceptional audio and visual clarity.

Pure Digital Home Theatre integrates individual components into a pure digital network. Whereas high-end device-to-device analogue AV connections may require up to 10 cables, the "Pure Digital Home Theatre" cuts this number to a maximum of two. This advance reduces the requirement for signal degrading digital-to-analogue-and vice versa conversion.

At the heart of the Pioneer Pure Digital Home Theatre is its 6th generation Plasma TV. “HD ready” in its genes, it submerses the viewer in a thrilling digital high definition experience. Digital sources can be connected directly to the HDMI interface. Or via an HDMI switching A/V receiver that adds surround sound – digitally tuned to the listening environment – and advances playback functionality with direct connectivity for iPod, and, i.LINK “Advanced Resolution Digital Audio” networking. The HDD/DVD recorder provides huge high-quality digital video storage capacity, DV camcorder support and HDMI output. Mix in a top-notch DVD-Audio/Video/SACD player featuring both i.LINK and HDMI, and consumers can enjoy unrivalled Pure Digital Home Theatre performance.

The Pioneer PURE DIGITAL HOME THEATRE stars featuring HDMI and/or i.LINK:
