We're not they would have fared quite so well with us but congratulations to Sony for scooping 4 'Best product' awards with the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA). The EISA judging panel 2011-2012 gave the awards to products ranging from digital imaging to home entertainment and they are as follows:
Of the 55HX920 the judges said: This beautiful piece of furniture looks good even when the set is turned off and is clearly designed to fit into the modern hi-tech home. The perfect viewing angle is easily achieved by simply tilting the set. Black level is as deep as can be without losing small details in the black, important for enjoying full-scale gradation in dark movie scenes whilst out of the box the colours are well calibrated. Among an impressive set of features youll find an old friend: Super Bit Mapping (SBM), initially introduced by Sony to improve the standard 16 bit CD quality. With Super Bit Mapping Video (SBMV), as used in this TV-set, the standard 8 bit video is processed with 14 bits with a visibly better colour gradation as a direct result. Faces especially benefit from this. Finally, you get 3D capability for free.
Well we didn't get chance to review the HX920, ourselves, so we'll have to take EISA's word for it but we will be getting out hands on the HX923 shortly so look out for it here
