Re: DJ game aims to buck predictions

Personally, I hope that this game totally and utterly fails. I hated the Guitar Hero and Rockband games with a vengeance, considering them not to be entertaining at all and unnecessary. If you want to play the guitar, buy one. Although it was arguable in some cases, that the Guitar Hero games were cheaper, this argument cannot be used with the DJ Hero game.

It is quite easy to buy a fairly decent DJ set-up for a little over the cost of what Amazon are selling the DJ Hero (and kit) for; £87.99 and you could get a DJ set-up for possibly less than the 'Renegade Edition' at £137.99...

The whole point of gaming is to do things you can't do in real life. Pretty sad to get so upset about it.

That idea makes sense for most types of games, RPGs (pretending to be a Wizard or a Knight or some such) FPS' (a practically unkillable soldier etc...). Even racing games (have all the money to buy and experience some of the greatest and fastest vehicles ever) and strategy games (commanding huge amounts of soldiers in a real-time or turn-based setting.

But I refuse to believe that you "can't" learn how to use either a guitar or; in this case a pair of decks. I just think it belittles the whole thing and means people will miss out in real feeling of learning how to do these things. Especially when it costs roughly the same.
Although, it is obviously slightly more expensive to buy decks, a mixer and a sound system to be able to learn how to DJ (not to mention the vinyl, or more likely CD-Rs), I still think its around the same price if you consider how much an XBox 360/PS3 and TV cost together...
