LINDY Solves Audio Connection Conundrum

LINDY Electronics latest range of audio converters overcome the problems caused by the myriad of permutations when setting-up home entertainment equipment. The LINDY converters allow users to split signals, switch devices and convert analogue stereo to SPDIF digital, and vice-versa, with ease.

LINDY’s compact TosLink Digital Optical Audio Splitter enables the connection of a single digital optical SPDIF TosLink source to two different TosLink equipped devices, such as an HD TV and AV amplifier. This saves on the wear and tear of constant plugging and unplugging cables, as does the LINDY 2 Way TosLink Digital Optical Audio Switch. This switch allows the user to connect two digital optical TosLink sources to a single optical TosLink (SPDIF) input like a HD TV, amp or home cinema system. A simple switch control allows for the source device to be easily selected.

“A lot of low and mid range amps only have a couple of optical inputs which can restrict the flexibility that most people demand of their systems these days,” says Andrew Ingram, Product Manager of LINDY Electronics. “With the convergence between TV, PC and Gaming devices into fully fledged home entertainment systems gaining strong momentum, we’ve seen the demand for audio splitters, switches and converters double in the last couple of years.”

LINDY’s audio converters can either convert both digital optical TosLink or coaxial SPDIF signals to analogue stereo left and right phono output ports (part no 70408), or convert analogue stereo audio signals to either digital optical TosLink or coaxial SPDIF (part no 70409). Both converters enable the combination of optical and coaxial cables to be connected at the same time, but only one type can be active at a time. A simple switch control determines which signal is active.

The LINDY audio converters (part nos. 70406, 70407, 70408 and 70409) are available now from www.lindy.co.uk or www.lindy.ie for customers in Ireland. Prices start from £34.99. All products are covered by LINDY’s 2 years warranty.
