64bit MPEG-2 Decoder?

I downloaded the Vista Codec Pack to get MP4 working on Vista.

I see it has options under 64bit Tools>Video decoder configuration>Codecs>MPEG2 for libavcodec and libmpeg2.

Will simply selecting one of these replace Vista's inbuilt decoder?

Also are there other MPEG-2 decoders for 64bit Vista Media Center?

Finally are any of them likely to be better - in the sense of quality, rather than performance - than Vista's default one as to be worth trying?

Thanks.
