Does anyone have a Silverstone GD-02

Just wondering if anyone is using a GD-o2 case. Im looking at swapping my case for one of these but dont think the cpu fab will fit. Im using an Arctic cooler pro7.
Just wondering what fans anyone has managed to get to fit?

Re: Does anyone have a Silverstone GD-02

I have the GD02-MT which uses a slimline optical drive rather than full height. Not sure on the size difference in the GD02, but I can just fit the Scythe Shuriken. Occasionally the PATA cable pull label blocks the fan, so I have to check for obstructions when re-assembling.
I wouldn't like to go much higher than the Shuriken.
Of course the stock cooler that came with the 4850e CPU also fits

Re: Does anyone have a Silverstone GD-02

I got this case yesterday. I ended up buying an Asus V-70 fan.
It turned out to be one of the most difficult builds ive done. I was just swapping everything over from my old case.
First of all i spent ages trying to get the hard drives in behind the psu. Just got them to fit by putting the psu upside down and pushing the cables down and under the hard drives.
The Blu ray drive then hit the psu when i came to fit it. Had to remove the psu and then strip the case from it. I then had to grind about a 30mm square from it. Then refitted the case and reinstalled.
The drive the hit the fan which is directly below it. Eventually got around it by fitting the Blu ray drive at an angle in its bracket so the back is angled up.
Then as the drive is at an angle the button on the front didnt line up with the case button. I had to melt a piece of plastic to the back of the case button so it reaches the drive button.
Came to switch on and it wouldnt boot. Found i had pulled a cable loose on the psu (modular) when pusshing it behind the hard drives.
All finished and working now though . The case seems very well made. The only problm is it seems louder than my other one, so may have to look at more slim cpu fans.

Re: Does anyone have a Silverstone GD-02

It seems the hard drives might be the main noise makers.
