Blu-ray playback software

Hi all

Not posted for a while... but I've got a problem that is really p1ssing me off.

Been using PowerDVD 8 (the top one) for blu-ray playback and have been happy for a year or more - until recently. There seem to be more and more it won't play (I also use AnyDVD HD).

I've tried allsorts to get it working - but to no avail. Even tried a demo of PowereDVD9 - and the same problem occurs. For example, Madagascar 2. Got the blu-ray. Won't play it... and won't play and image of it either.

DVDs (discs and images) play fine.

I then tried a demo of TMT3 - and it worked prefectly on 1 blu-ray that I couldn't get working... then I went on 2 weeks hol... and got back and the demo has timed out.

So - what would you do. I paid good money for PowereDVD 8 - and think it must be that that is at fault.

Should I buy somethig else...?

Thoughts appreciated.

Cheers

Si

Have the same problem with WINDVD+blu
Predator 2 didn't play when it was released, but did with anydvd and with TMT3
Badgered Corel then mysteriously a patch was released some time later which fixed the problem. Then discovered i.Robot doesn't work, but does in TMT3Can't be bothered to go though the whole preceedure again.
Got one HDDVD that wont play with TMT3 but does in another PC with a different Vid.Card and does play with WinDVD.
Probably has to do with the ability of the software to cope with the latest / types of copy protection ?
By all reports TMT3 seems to be the most universal ATM.

Re: Blu-ray playback software

Does the demo of TMT actually work with Blu-ray? I thought the demo was crippled of hidef playback.

Re: Blu-ray playback software

I've just downloaded it again and installed it on another PC - it seems to be working fine with a blu ray image (the latest Indiana Jones flick) - although there is no sound......

Going to drag some other images across the network and try them all on this PC before deciding to purchase...
