The resolution and image quality of visual image sources have been greatly improved due to growth in the use of high-definition players and the proliferation of digital high-definition TV broadcasts. This has generated a growing demand for products that offer users a simple and easy way to enjoy high-quality digital contents on a large screen at home. In order to meet the diverse needs of the consumer, Epson has added to its line-up of full high-definition compatible HTPS panels with two new models that employ D7 process technology for its entry-level and high-end models of home projectors.

For the high-end home projector, advances were made to the previous models of full high-definition C2 Fine panels, resulting in a new D7/C2 Fine panel that is compatible with a double speed driver. This panel is able to handle 120 frames per second, making it possible to smoothly display fast moving images. The new D7 panel for entry-level models is Epson's first 0.7-inch TN organic alignment layer HTPS for a front projector that is capable of delivering full high-definition. The new D7 panels were developed to enable users to more easily enjoy full high-definition images on large-screen 3LCD-type projectors.

D7/C2 Fine panel for high-end projectors
The new panel for high-end projectors carries on the high contrast, smooth images, and jet black color reproduction achieved by the existing C2 Fine panel, as well as offering the features described below.

1. Displays 120 frames per second

· Able to input video image signals that contain intermediate frames

· Improved response to moving images

2. Miniaturization of circuits

· Reduced the number of ICs used from four to one by embedding mini-LVDS interface function onto video signal processing IC
