Post BenQ monitors go true widescreen

Monitor specialist BenQ has launched a range of computer monitors with the slogan 'Lookin' great!'

The big gimmick is that the majority of the range is in the 16:9 format, as opposed to the 16:10 widely used in the IT market for 'widescreen' monitors. Obviously 16:9 has advantages when displaying HD video material, as its native resolution is compatible with the 1080p format and requires no rescaling which can cause problems with resolution, geometry and picture framing.  read more »

Re: BenQ monitors go true widescreen

I think I would rather have a 1920x1200 monitor that displayed a 1080p source in oar with a slight black bar top and bottom, which gives you the best of both worlds as 16:10 is nicer for pc use if you have a graphics card that can happily provide that resolution

Re: BenQ monitors go true widescreen

Hi
I'v follow-up those panelsabout 8 months!
Finally "AUO" did it

BenQ is only marketing/producing group of thoese panels+
Technicaly "module" belong to "AUO"+

Main change/difference is format type 16;9 instead of "classic" 16;10!
Pixel>>1920X1080 instead of 1920X1200pixel

So as it seems that in near future w'll to have FULLHD PC monitors as
well
--------------
But those panels should come many other producers too!(not only
BenQ)
So,end of this year/begin next year w'll find it many other brands in the market

If you plan to buy a new monitor, just wait a little bit!

--
The new AUO modules(panel) has two sizes such as 21,5" and 24" all FULLHD+
I'v decided to buy 21,5" which has less pixel-pitch size!>>0,248

Bye++

p.c;FYI>>BenQ's first release model hasn't HDMI/DVI input!!!beware this model,its Analog(VGA type)only!
Wait second release model which has HDMI input+

Re: BenQ monitors go true widescreen

That's great news! I've had a BenQ projector for a while now and I really like it. Looking forward to seeing the new monitors from them.
