Pioneer Kuro PDP-LX6090 wins EISA award

The Pioneer PDP-LX6090 has scooped the EISA 'Best European Plasma Tv 2008-2009 Award'. Here is the full press release.

Quote:
Pioneer is pleased to announce that the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has granted the prestigious “European Plasma-TV 2008-2009” award to the Pioneer PDP-LX6090 KURO plasma flat screen TV. The ‘HD ready 1080p’ KURO TV won over the knowledgeable EISA jury with its exceptional black levels that result in finer details and greater contrast.

EISA is the largest editorial multimedia organisation in Europe, with a membership of 49 audio, mobile electronics, video and photo magazines drawn from 19 European countries. Every year a panel of judges comprising the editors-in-chief from all EISA member magazines selects outstanding products and technologies across a wide range of audiovisual product categories.

The main highlight of the award winner is, according to the EISA jury, its exceptionally good picture quality: “The Pioneer PDP-LX6090 is a superb plasma TV whose advanced functions bring out the very best results from Blu-ray, DVD and standard TV signals. Thanks to an amazingly low black level – Pioneer calls it KURO – this set’s contrast ratio is sky-high. The result is an impression of immense depth and crisp detailing, to a level and quality not seen before on a plasma TV.”

The PDP-LX6090’s ability to handle 24p signals and its intelligent optimisation features were also honoured: “Professional users can tune to ISF standards, to view films exactly as their directors intended: 1080p/24 with correct colours and cinema-like movements at 72 frames per second. However, myriad other settings are equally accessible through a lavishly specified menu system. The final layer of optimisation is a light sensor that automatically enhances the picture in response to individual room lighting conditions.”

Pioneer understands that incomparable picture quality and advanced features are only a part of what makes a premium plasma TV. The “European Plasma-TV 2008-2009” matches impressive performance with elegant aesthetics, providing stylish sophistication for discerning home entertainment enthusiasts.

“Receiving this prestigious EISA award acknowledges our efforts to continuously reinvent ourselves and rewards our determination to offer nothing but the most advanced technology combined with cutting-edge features and a classy design,” states Jim Catcheside, Product Manager for Home Business division at Pioneer GB. “We are extremely proud to be honoured by EISA for the fifth consecutive year and are committed to keep up our innovative work for the benefit of our customers.”
The PDP-LX6090 is one of two new 93 mm depth KURO plasma TVs with the 50-inch PDP-LX5090, providing an equal level of picture quality and performance.

We know this, as a thousand other reviews have also said . The pioneer is the best thing since sliced bread. Unfortunately knowing this does not help pay for the damn thing which will create a huge dent in your bank balance.
People who actually can afford this TV, do not need to know if its good or bad.
Its like the old story associated with the Rolls Royce . If you have to ask the price you can't afford it!
