Dr Who beats Battlestar Galactica and Torchwood at 2008 Hugo Awards
Much loved Dr Who episode Blink has taken a key SF award at the 66th World Science Fiction Convention, beating out Battlestar Galactica’s Razor Movie and the Torchwood episode Captain Jack Harkness. The 2008 Hugo awards were announced at the event, and saw Steven Moffat and episode director Hettie Macdonald winning the Hugo for Best [...]

Re: Dr Who beats Battlestar Galactica and Torchwood at 2008 Hugo Awards
I have to admit when I saw the title of this thread from the main page I thought I'd come and reply saying how could fun but silly SciFi like Doctor Who beat the excellent Battlestar Galactica? However the DW episode Blink was superb - possibly one of the best Doctor Who stories ever. So well deserved IMHO.

'Blink' is in a league of it's own. Best single piece of telefantasy I've seen for many a year.
Well deserved, glad Steven Moffat is taking over Doctor Who as well.

I'll give you Blink and some of the other stories Steven Moffat has written (and Christopher Eccleston starred in) - But the rest of the entire series is basically for 3 year olds

Dr Who (the modern episodes) are a million times better than Galactica and Torchwood. Tennant is the best Doctor ever.

Moffat and Eccleston go together superbly. I'm less keen on Tennant but he's very good as well.
All the best

I don't think there'll be any more Doctor Who for now, at least.
