Starting out?

I'm a 26 year old plumber, who has recently been layed off and whos getting alittle board with the trade. It pays a reasonable wage (24K a year) and thats why I've stuck with it so far. It's been great being able to have a nice car and afford to buy a house, which alot my age struggle to do. But I'm loosing interest fast, If I need to, I'll keep doing that job, but as A/V is my hobby and I think I have a technical mind, with the ability to do a job within A/V, I'd like to give it a try if possible. I'd be prepared to take a cut in wages, if it were a job I enjoy. Ive setup many A/V systems for friends with little problem. So, if this were the route I wanted to take, where would I go next, Qualifications, etc. Also what different routes are there within A/V, obviously I've seen the Home Cinema side and I'm very interested in that part. So please help!

A board plumber!
